David–An Emotional Guy

As I meandered through my day, there were times where things didn’t seem “right”.

It’s been interesting to see how I’ve tried to solve my problem of not “feeling right”. My mind was brought to the Old Testament character David. It seems as though the emotions I feel as a 21st century Christian are encompassed in the documents he wrote thousands of years ago. When I think about David, I think of a man who’s eyes were constantly towards heaven. Sure, I may be romanticizing his life a little bit, but the reality of God to him was incredible.

Does our day seem like this?
O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
–Psalm 131

Allow the Lord to comfort you and bring you to this:
The Lord sets the prisoners free;
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
The Lord will reign forever,
your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the Lord!
–Psalm 146
